New York City is in for a treat on Wednesday, December 13, 2011 when Actor/singer, LEON will remove his acting hat and replace it with that of “Artist.”  Known for his roles in movies such as “Cool Runnings,” “Above the Rim,” “Waiting to Exhale,” “The Temptations,” “Little Richard,” “The Five Heartbeats,” along with television series “OZ” and “Resurrection Boulevard,” LEON will perform live, for a worthy cause, with his band “Leon & the Peoples” at Sullivan Hall.

LEON became lead singer of his own band, Leon & the Peoples in 2005 and went on to release their debut album, “The Road Less Traveled” in 2006. In 2007, the band received a nomination for the album from the International Reggae and World Music Award. Later that year, the band joined Beres Hammond and Marcia Griffiths on their thirty six city US tour, For The Love Of It Tour. Leon was also a frequent surprise guest on Beres’ 2008 A Moment in Time US tour. In 2010, the band headlined at NYC’s Aids Walk Concert in Central Park, Jazz Aspen Festival and more.

The Actor remarks, “I am never too busy to do something charity related. I am more than happy to lend assistance because the work is so important. I am urging everyone to come out and support this cause. Give A Gift, Change A Life, Make A Difference. This is what Christmas is about, giving to those who cannot afford to do so otherwise.”

 The Holiday concert, which will also feature performances by Curtis Bailey & The Clinic and Alexis Layne, is held in conjunction with The American Friends of Jamaica, who will host a Toy and Book Drive during the event. Concert goers are asked to bring a toy or book unwrapped to benefit one of the children’s homes supported by the AFJ in Jamaica.

Founded in 1982, the American Friends of Jamaica is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization built on the principles of service and philanthropy; and is established to render assistance in the areas of Education, Healthcare, and Economic Development. The AFJ works with a broad coalition of Jamaican organizations and stakeholders to bring about change in the lives of Jamaicans in need. T.I. has announced that he will release a mixtape on New Year’s Day.

As soon as the ball drops at midnight on New Year’s Eve, Tip will celebrate by putting out his mixtape #Fuckdacityup, he revealed on Twitter.

“Breaking News! Its official…I’m puttin out a mixtape midnight Jan.1 2012 called #Fuckdacityup. Wanna be the 1st thing yall hear nxt year,” he wrote. “When da ball drop…We drop!!!! Out wit da old,in wit da TRUE!!!! Atown….Weeee Baaaaaack!!!!!”

T.I.’s upcoming eighth album Troubleman is due next year featuring the singles “I’m Flexin’” with Big K.R.I.T. and the Pharrell-assisted “Here Ye, Hear Ye.”

Circle House Studios opened its doors in 1998. Located in North Miami, the recording studio soon became a favorite among the A-listers. Owned by the reggae legends Inner Circle, the studio has recorded artists such as; No Doubt, Mary J. Blige, Pharrell, Lenny Kravitz, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Rico Love, Jim Johnson and Good Charlotte just to name a few.

Ian Lewis stated; “We took a little bit of Jamaica and brought it to Miami. It’s a home away from home for the artists. When we built Circle House, many of the elements reflect that relaxed vibe.”

Circle House is currently one of the only two studios in South Florida to have a SSL duality console. Each of the three rooms hold a Pro Tools HD system, one SSL 9000j and a SSL 4000g+. Along with state of the art tools, artists can lounge by the waterfall and pool while the in-house chef cooks.

“You gotta be diverse and have a good working atmosphere that’s comfortable for artists. With us you get more than just a studio”, stated studio director Abebe Lewis.
